    The ADR legislation protects not only the driver but also the public and the environment against the dangers presented by the transport of dangerous goods. Examples of dangerous goods mentioned in the ADR legislation are corrosive, flammable, toxic and explosive liquids, as well as radioactive materials. Annex B, Provisions Concerning Transport, Equipment and Transport Operations, Part 8 Requirements for vehicle crews, equipment, operation and documentation, lays out criteria that the vehicle crew must meet and basic equipment that must be available on each vehicle.
