ADR (International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road) 2009
The ADR legislation protects not only the driver but also the public and the environment against the dangers presented by the transport of dangerous goods. Examples of dangerous goods mentioned in the ADR legislation are corrosive, flammable, toxic and explosive liquids, as well as radioactive materials. Annex B, Provisions Concerning Transport, Equipment and Transport Operations, Part 8 Requirements for vehicle crews, equipment, operation and documentation, lays out criteria that the vehicle crew must meet and basic equipment that must be available on each vehicle. Drivers of vehicles should be aware of hazards arising from the carriage of dangerous goods and should be able to take measures to limit the effects of an incident whilst protecting themselves, the public and the environment. -
